Resolutions for 2011

We have all heard the term “New Year’s Resolution” but I wonder just how many of us make them.  I have copies of mine from many years, but there have been years where I neglected to make them and this year will be different.

New Year's resolution, goals

Resolution List

Why would I want to make resolutions for the coming year?  Let me list just a few reasons for you to consider:

1.  A resolution is a goal, or it can be a goal if it has the SMART goal attributes; Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-Based

2.  Resolutions can help shape your activities for the coming year.  Too many of us react to life and do not plan proactively

3.  Resolutions can be impactful, especially if there is follow-up on the part of the person making the resolution.  Better yet, have a resolution partner who will help keep you accountable

iceberg, tip of the iceberg

These three reasons are just the tip of the iceberg.

What is your plan?  How will you make the coming year of 2011 your best year yet?

My goals are all open-ended but I’ve done my best to live life to it’s fullest and I’m quickly ticking off my bucket list goals.
